Ramblings and statistics

Today I'm writing this post as a sort of self-reflection and as a means of gaining some additional insight into what I'm doing and what this says about myself. It is not the aim of this post to be self-praising or anything vain. Anyway, some observations:

-2000km back and forth, for a whopping total of 4000km covered in less than 3 days
-severe snow threats looming around for the whole traveling period, all the while with fingers crossed about getting lucky during transit
- differences in temperature of 20 full degrees both ways
-time spent traveling at either end including whatever added means of land transport, approximately 12 hours
-time elapsed between departing and returning, exactly 72 hours. total time spent in desired company stands at around 60 hours

I must say that I'm pleased with the above and with my resolve to maintain my promises. "A man loses everything if he cannot keep his word." Truth be told, I took some really dicey chances this time round, but I'm glad I did. Not to mention that now I can look back and think to myself "Yes, I succeeded once again" and grin with that kind of boyish mischief I'm known for. The satisfaction of saying that, particularly when something isn't easy or looking favourable, is something I lack proper words to describe.

This reminds me of a quote I once encountered inside a diary from my days in uni. "The only thing that stands between a man and what he wants from life is often merely the will to try it and the faith to believe it is possible."

I suppose that makes me a daredevil somehow. What can I say? I'm glad I tried ;)
